Mission Statement

Robin’s Rhythms bridges generational gaps of Modern and Contemporary TAP Dance Traditions, with almost 50 years of knowledge and training. Using Fun, high impact, percussive, and grounded sounds, to awaken the music in YOU! 

Vision Statement

Robin’s Rhythms Vision is to Build, Energize, and Develop the individual that yearns to maintain and increase their Mental and Physical health for longer living. Using the universal connection of music for self expression through dance and creative art while increasing skills through physical exercise and history & culture training. We create spaces for personal execution and professional networks.

Tap Dance Training Techniques Overview

Exploration of traditional and contemporary percussive Tap Dance, focusing on personal and social impact. Through demonstrations, dance footage, and showcases, this training aims to preserve tap dance traditions and rudiments, emphasizing musicality and historical references. It promotes individuality and community, encouraging participants to create music with their feet exploring rhythm, syncopation, and self-expression. Participants learn that while everyone has a unique sound, collaboration can create a unified form of expression.

Tap Dance Training Techniques

“Bridging Generations with Every Tap.”

  • TECHNICAL TOES (TT)

    History "TapTalk" Knowledge and Rudiments, "Technical Toes" breakdown of Tap Dance musicality. This class explores the rich history and culture from Africa - to America. Through historical documented research data and personal experiences passed on through Tap Traditions. Intricate footwork breakdown of sounds and rhythms for clarity and creation of music through dance structure

  • BANGIN’ BEATS (BB)

    Full embodiment of intentional sound awakening of the mind and body, down to your “sole.” Beginner to advanced, slow-to-high impact percussive Tap Dance rhythms using the full body. Exploring focused footwork with music through sound, and improvisational creativity using lively musical percussive tools, vibrations, and strategies. This class aims to create an exhilarating experience for the participant, while building sound for growth, and personal expression through individualized team building practices.   


  • SEASONED SOUNDS (SS)

    Technical execution in Broadway, Big Band, and Old Hollywood-style tap. Experience rhythmic conversations through Jazz Tap Dance, with a focus on theater improvisation and performance training. Ideal for dancers looking to elevate their craft.

  • STRETCH ~ STRENGTH ~ SOUNDS (SSS)

    Focused breathing, and mindful movements in music exploring self conscious knowing and connection of the spirit, and channeling fun, positive energy into the body beginning with slow movement to stretch and strengthen soft and core muscles in preparation for larger movements, ending in creative unified sound.

Overview of Training Levels

  • Will learn the basic rudiments of tap dancing, learning the instrument and  how the toes and heels sound through slow repetitive movements through interpretation of sound,  Learning proper placement of foot and body for free creative movement. Training processes review historical education and background of steps.

  • Further exploration of tap rudiments, cross the floor - repetition of steps to lock in rhythm, creation of tap sentences through  percussive footwork, creating a language with and without music. Training processes review historical education and background of steps.

  • Technical footwork with advanced and intricate footwork, across the floor and combination technical breakdown in footwork, fast paced. Dancers will enhance improvisation skills, focus on breathing while dancing, working to prepare and build confidence for personal and professional performance art. Training processes review historical education and background of steps.
